Sea of Darkness

I don't remember where this image was taken, but I am always attracted to the light in the midst of  darkness.   The light area of the water seems to create a passageway for the boats, and enables us to comprehend the vastness of our waterways.

Mass Ascension

  New Mexico hosts an annual Balloon Fiesta.  People travel great distances to ride in a balloon.   About 700 balloons reach the sky during this event, and the view of them floating through the air is a sight to behold.

Peek at Paris

Paris is my favorite city.   It has beauty, culture, and style. . .more than I have found in other parts of the world.   One view is more beautiful than the next.   Here, looking through a museum sculpture, I am able to see a considerable distance away and find Montmartre.

Sienna Train

Leaving Florence for Sienna was very exciting, expecially since we were going to see the Palio.   Standing at the doorway of the train, I noticed all the lines and angles of the station and the train coming through.

New Mexico Landscape

Adobe - Much of New Mexican architecture is inspired by the adobe dwelling. It’s common to see ladders leaning against the homes. One of the oldest adobe dwellings can be found in the Taos Pueblo.It was interesting for me to discover that adobe brick (combination of mud, sand and straw) originated in Spain and was brought to Mexico by the Spaniards who settled there. The adobe style of architecture was then brought to New Mexico.

Boots

This image intrigued me.   I wondered to whom these boots belonged.   The photograph has strength because the boots would probably be worn by those who are muscular and physically fit.   They might belong to construction workers or to those who are athletes.  They are quite durable and needed by people in certain professions.

Sienna Palio

The Palio is a medieval event that takes place in Sienna twice in August. It's primarily a horse race where about seventeen neighborhoods in Sienna compete for the coveted title of winning the Palio. However, before the actual event, the visitor can see the pageantry displayed for each district.   One can see the horses, riders, and costumes that are typical of those worn in medieval times.  People travel from all parts of the world to view this very popular spectacle.
